Yannick Granieri signs with Polygon

by Polygon Bikes
Jan 4, 2012 at 8:32

A new year brings many changes – for Yannick Granieri 2012 marks a new beginning and he is switching his old bike for a range of brand new Polygon frames. To celebrate the occasion, Polygon invited Yannick and team-mate Sam Reynolds to a trip of legendary riding in beautiful Bali and to experience the manufacturing process first hand at the Polygon factory. Polygon Bikes will be hitting Europe this year, so keep an eye out!

After just coming back from riding in the blazing heat on the beautiful island of Bali, Yannick’s riding debut on the new frame at the Monster Energy White Style in Leogang (January 27) will be quite the change for the French pro. The slopestyle event on snow is the perfect occasion to put the frame to the test in extreme contest conditions. However, the bikes are ready for the test: Yannick and Sam were able to make sure of that during their visit of the Polygon factory in Surabaya and while riding anything from volcanoes to jungle trails.

Yannick is also looking forward to competing with his new Polygon bikes: “On our trip I’ve had a chance to finally try the bikes for myself and I can’t wait to show what I can do on my new frames! It was really cool to see how the bikes are built and it’s awesome that I can really get involved in the process with my own ideas.” Yannick is the best competing French freerider out there at the moment, a fact he proved with two top ten placements in the overall FMB World Tour ranking in a row. 2011 was a successful year for him and he’s planning to still step up his game for 2012 with a new partner by his side.

Polygon is already the leading bike manufacturer on the South East Asian market and is now expanding to Europe. The company can look back on two decades of experience and in that time were able to prove their technological know-how and passion for gravity sports. For 2012, Polygon is bringing their quality craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology to Europe. Signing Yannick is a huge step in the right direction: “Having Yannick to represent our brand is another leap for Polygon bikes. His enthusiasm, hard work and professionalism will help us improve our bikes even more. He rides our bikes with such confidence; we’ll definitely keep seeing Yannick regularly up on the podiums”, says Yustian Nimara, Marketing Manager of Polygon bikes.

are there something wrong with the names? evil uses revolt, iron horse uses sunday and that's not a brand new word. anyway, 70% of polygon frame production is for scott and kona so they know a thing abut frame production

Compared to major brands Polygon is still growing, but at least its expanding and now their name is gaining awareness in Europe. Hopefully it could be a major brand in the world though.. Agree with jifi there, they produce for Kona & Scott, beside that their fulsus 2012 lineup uses their own suspension design.. Gotta get me one of those 2012 lineups

they're bicycle factory everywhere in the world, and we just don't know until they surface above water,, just like Morewood from SA , , this time Polygon from ASEAN region... maybe we will hear from South America continent sooner or later . . . the most important part is, bring me a good bikes with a reasonable price!

This is going to be an argument I can't win hey. no worries! The bikes look real nice, and if it means we get them a little cheaper too - fantastic! all I'm saying, is if they had different names for different types of bikes, EG Rocky Mountains Element, and slayer - it'd be more distinctive, and far less confusing. You can't class a time trial bike, and a first time road bike in the same category, neither a DH and AM bike... and tbh, who wants an XC bike called collosus? sounds like a friggin tank Wink

Need honesty before publicly claiming that one bike is your genuine product. I have question here, is Polygon making or just asembling Kona and Scott bikes?? Don't you buy the frames, forks and most of parts from foreign suppliers? In the case of Scott bikes, Scott R&D people do everything from A to Z, while your factory just need to gather the parts from suppliers appointed by Scott and then asemble it. Is that called "making" bike? It is not far different with your hi-end models too. But your campaign is so convincing that local people here almost believe in whatever you say, especially at the point that Polygon "making" those bikes. Mr. Yustian, please tell the truth dong.... or people will accuse you of making "public lying".

Many people do not realize that they buy boomerang as an Australian handicraft, which actually made in Salatiga, Central Java. adagio70, you may not realized that your Scott frame (Belgium) might be made in Surabaya, ha ha ha ...

Agreed with timfrancis. There's something sound not right with Polygon naming its bike. If you want to sell a brand new bike just make it sure it stand out in the crowd, at least the names. Collosus sound like a big, heavy thing, yet the spelling is awkward, should be Colossus right? They should find a better english spoken marketing team haha!! I mean it is useless to have a good quality bike if you don't know the right way to sell them...

Well polygon are a half decent brand there DH bike is low cost for what you get. My friend just got a polygon it is sick, It has fox 40(fit), D max ultimates, saint brakes and gears, basically all top of the range stuff for 3 grand. There DH frame is the same as KHS. I have looked at there web site and the bikes aren't half bad but the DJ bike is not so great.

3 Grand? They sell for $4,399 on bicycles online. Damn good value for Kashima Fox, Full saint and Deemax Ultimates though.
